Check this out:

Vibe Live was founded by a volunteer called Katie who knew local bands and wanted to raise money to buy a pair of breeding llamas. (Come on they are cute). Anyway she held a gig in Fusion Youth Club, then another one....then another one. Not only did she manage to buy her llamas but she realised that young people wanted to rock out in a safe and secure environment, her band mates wanted a stage to perform on and her creative friends fancied getting some of their art work on posters and flyers. Without even realising it Vibe Live was born. (Without the pain of labour and other such yukky stuff)!!!

So far Vibe Live have been responsible for holding monthly gigs at Fusion Youth Club giving a stage to the likes of Shadowkey, Sammys Got Tourettes, Sepia Daze, Last Summers Day and Framework. They have also become buddies with the guys over at Lava Ignite and help them with their Under 18s (Club Culture) nights. Davi C and his crew have lent Arena 1 and Arena 2 to Vibe Live, allowing the likes of Dr Clue and JK 47, G2G, Urban Fusion Street Crew, Colt 45 and Fitzpain a stage with fancy lights to perform on. Oxjam was given the Vibe Live magic at the I Bar and Leigh and his crew were amazing by providing us with sound and of course a venue for free.

If that wasn't exciting enough Vibe Live and the Arts Institute put on a little shin dig in Bournemouth Lower Gardens for under 18s, the event was called The Takeover and attracted hundreds of people on a beautiful sunny day. The headlining act The Small Town Rivals blew the crowd away and the acoustic tent gave those not interested in rock a place to hang out and listen to chilled out surfer vibes. Big thanks to Tommy Puttick, Matt Sawyer, The Metropolise, James McVey and all others who performed on the day! Vibe Live also got involved in another outside event, Vita Nova's Family Fun Day at Kings Park. Sepia Daze, Neon Abio, Dub Educators, Dr Clue and Ignite the Night graced the stage with some loud and funky performances. The Mayor even rocked out! (Along with Ted Taylor, Children's Champion and MP, who was a top spot)!!

And future stuff........a charity gig at The Winchester for Cancer Research, helping out with the Film Junkies/One Voice Film Festival after show party at the end of the pier and maybe just maybe a little event for Black History Month. So get ready for Vibe Live to take over in your local venue!

What Vibe Live means to its members:

For me Vibe Live is about giving the Bournemouth music scene a boost. Helping bands and the young people of Bournemouth to come together and appreciate the music scene and to give stuff back.

I think Vibe Live is all about bringing people together through music of different genres. I think this helps the community because it gives people somewhere to go. I like it lots.

I think Vibe Live is about helping young people to interact and help other people and also raise money for people and charities.

Vibe Live is all about being inspired, inspired to make a difference to their community.

I think Vibe Live is an amazing chance for anyone interested in live music to set up, perform, take photographs, co-ordinate events, graphic design and event management in their local community.
